o berco / the crib
muda fraldas / changing unit
Things around here are coming along nicely. I've put the wardrobe (a simpler and cheaper than the one I posted about before), the changing unit and the crib. Even Papa Beat spruced himself up to take a picture!
On Wednesday I went to another appointment and got lumbered with the cranky midwife again, thought this time I manage to make her smile when I answered to the baby movement question with a "yes he moves a lot, he kick me so hard on Sunday that I nearly fell of the sofa" (it was probably one of the yellow smiles ever which was accompanied by the weakest laugh, but at least it was something!)
I also found out that she's paranoid, because when I told her from where she could draw the blood out, she made a massive speech about how she wasn't incompetent like the other midwives, that she used to be a nurse and she specialized in taking blood and if she couldn't palpate the vein she whould use it. To cut it short, she palpated both my arms and wrists and ended up using the vein I told her about but, not without beforehand writing on me with a byro.
She refused to book another appointment for this year as I'm going to be in Portugal on my 32 week because, apparently the notes that the hospital gives ALL women are wrong (there it says 31 weeks) and she said that as I'm getting a scan before leaving I don't need to be seen by a midwife as there are other women that need the appointment more than me. I totally understand what she meant by all of that, but, there are less aggressive ways to say exactly the same thing. Well, what really matters in the middle of all of this is that Vicente is still perfect, that the pregnancy is going well and apparently the boy is already upside down :D

ReplyDeleteTens a certeza que te deixam trazer o Vicente no avião assim escondido? :-)***
